ANCIENT PRACTICE AT INDIGO
Acupuncture is an ancient system of medicine used widely throughout the world today and is quickly gaining popularity and respect in western medicine with the average person and doctors alike. The practice is based on energy, of which we are all made. In a physical level capillaries, lymph flow, blood supply as well as the function and form of all the structures within our bodies. After years of study, an acupuncturist learns to manipulate this energy, understanding what areas need more or less energy and stimulating or controlling flow. The body consists of many pathways called “meridians” and we use these as a transport system, a way of telling the body what kind of energy needs to go where. The NIH (National Institute of Health) and WHO (World Health Organization) lists many issues that acupuncture treats – don’t hesitate to investigate for yourselves. If you would like more resources regarding acupuncture or are unsure about its health benefits or safety, please do not hesitate to contact us and ask for Holly, she is more than happy to help.
